Job Description
EKG Security is seeking a professional and dependable Security Officer to provide security services for a gated residential community in Fayetteville, GA. This unarmed position is responsible for monitoring community access, conducting security patrols, assisting residents and visitors, and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the community entrance and exit points.
- Verify resident and visitor access as required.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property by foot or vehicle.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, accidents, or incidents.
- Complete daily activity logs and incident reports accurately and promptly.
- Maintain awareness of community rules, post orders, and site procedures.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and notify law enforcement, fire personnel, or management when necessary.
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to residents, guests, and vendors.
- Monitor assigned areas for unusual conditions that may impact security or safety.
- Complete required post-order training and site familiarization.
Essential Functions
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Patrol the property in various weather conditions.
- Effectively communicate with residents, visitors, and team members.
- Read, write, and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Use a computer, smartphone, or tablet for reporting and communication purposes.
- Operate radio and telephone equipment when required.
- Understand and follow site-specific policies and procedures.
- Work weekends and additional shifts when needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate basic computer systems, email, and mobile applications.
- Ability to pass any state-required licensing and training requirements.
- Must complete site-specific training before working independently.
- Must have a mobile phone and active email address.
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak English.
- Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
