E.J. Basler Co. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2nd shift CNC Swiss Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll operate and set up CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality parts according to exact specifications. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on lathe machining experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes to perform drilling, boring, reaming, milling, and tapping operations
- Load bar feeders or manually load bar stock and castings
- Monitor machine operations and tool wear; make tooling adjustments as necessary
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
- Submit completed parts for final inspection and complete necessary documentation
- Replace, reset, and sharpen tools as needed
- Maintain machine fluids and ensure cleanliness of equipment using 5S principles
- Collaborate with team members and assist less experienced operators when needed
- Follow all company safety protocols and report any issues to supervisors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC Swiss-type or CNC lathe equipment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret work orders
- Familiarity with shop math and G-code basics
- Proficient with measuring tools and able to perform quality checks
- Strong attention to detail and safety
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 20–50 lbs occasionally and 10–25 lbs frequently
- Regular use of hands and arms; ability to focus on close-range tasks
- Standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the shift
Work Environment:
- Loud manufacturing setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts, oils, coolants, and fumes
- PPE (safety glasses, gloves, ear protection) required at all times
