About the Role:As part of the Product Development team, the Display Module Engineer will work both independently and within cross-functional teams to support new process and product development as well as continuous product improvement. This hands-on role collaborates closely with global teams across the company—including US R&D, Operations, Taiwan R&D, Quality, and production facilities in China —and serves as a key link between U.S. technology development and mass production in Asia.ResponsibilitiesModule Integration for new products (50%)Define design rules and integration processes for new module platforms in collaboration with teams in China and TaiwanDevelop reference designs, support material selection and qualification, and establish process parameters to ensure performance requirements are metAct as liaison between U.S. R&D and Asia production teams; lead regular technical meetingsTravel to Asia up to 30–40% annuallyModule Advancement & Continuous Improvement (50%)Serve as technical lead for the display module fabrication lab, including staff training, vendor engagement, and qualification of new tools and processesDevelop and maintain SOPs for equipment and processesTroubleshoot downstream processes and support transfer of new requirements to enable improved test devicesQualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 3–5 years of experience OR MS/Ph.D. with 0–3 yearsFluency in Mandarin Chinese requiredStrong oral and written communication skillsPreferencesKnowledge of electronics and clean-room assembly processes (lamination, autoclaving, edge sealing)Familiarity with Six Sigma tools (Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, DOE, simulations, statistical analysis)Experience with COMSOL MultiphysicsExperience with external development teams and contract manufacturers Benefits:Competitive total compensation packageMedical, dental and vision on 1st dayCompany 401K match20 PTO daysSick timeCasual day to day work environmentHybrid/flexible work environment (for some positions)E Ink is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
