Job Description 

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience developing secure cloud service configurations, assessing cloud environments for risk, and implementing security controls aligned with federal frameworks. The candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in cloud security engineering, command‑line assessment techniques, and designing guardrails that ensure compliant deployment of cloud services across complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and support the delivery of cybersecurity and IT security engineering projects.
• Research CSP documentation to identify secure configurations and potential risks associated with each cloud service.
• Deploy, configure, and assess cloud services to determine secure configurations and create assessment checks to validate proper implementation.
• Map assessment checks to NIST SP 800‑53 Rev 5 controls and provide recommendations for security solutions aligned with applicable control families.
• Assess the security posture of cloud services to determine risk exposure resulting from misconfigurations.
• Develop and implement guardrails ensuring cloud resources are deployed securely.
• Deploy cloud resources using both CSP web interfaces and command‑line utilities.
• Gather and analyze cloud resource configuration data using CSP command‑line tools to retrieve and evaluate security‑relevant settings.
• Evaluate and recommend security software and hardware solutions for integration into existing architecture.
• Create security matrix checks based on identified secure configuration requirements.
• Conduct peer reviews of matrix checks and security assessments.
• Perform releases and manage version control in a Git‑based environment.

Qualifications: 

• Active Top-Secret clearance 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 5 years of experience working in cloud environments
• Experience leading security design and architecture reviews for large applications, systems, and networks.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux, Windows, networking, firewalls, and general systems administration or engineering.
• Scripting experience with variables, loops, arrays, and functions.
• Strong track record securing large, complex, and mission‑critical environments.
