Job Description 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience evaluating cloud security architecture, applying NIST and FedRAMP standards, and assessing commercial cloud environments for vulnerabilities and compliance. The candidate will demonstrate proven expertise in identifying security risks, recommending remediation, and supporting security governance across complex cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate the security configuration of Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Cloud Service Offerings (CSOs) to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Apply knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 4, RMF, and FedRAMP to assess cloud security controls and inheritance models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Analyze and test the security architecture of cloud-based systems and applications; identify vulnerabilities; recommend and validate remediation actions.
• Assess AWS and/or Azure environments against CIS security benchmarks.
• Identify areas where existing security policies or procedures require updates or where new policies are needed to support business growth.
• Research and benchmark security infrastructure technologies relevant to organizational needs.
• Support security design and architecture reviews for applications, systems, and networks.
• Provide subject-matter expertise to guide stakeholders through complex risk decisions.
• Maintain awareness of evolving cloud security best practices and compliance standards.

Qualifications: 

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• 2–5 years of progressive experience in cyber security technical roles.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience assessing resources in commercial cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Proven success securing large or complex environments (e.g., data centers, industrial systems).
• Experience with security architecture, design reviews, and vulnerability analysis.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
• NIST SP 800-53 Rev 4
• RMF
• FedRAMP controls & inheritance
• CIS benchmarks for AWS/Azure
• Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, Security , FISMA, NIST-related certifications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
