Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Adult Day Program
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with developmental disabilities in a community-based group setting. DSPs play a vital role in helping participants build independence, engage in meaningful activities, and enjoy a safe and supportive environment.
Schedule: Daytime hours (Monday–Friday)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group setting
- Support community outings, recreational activities, and skill-building programs
- Encourage independence, social interaction, and positive behaviors
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
- Communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and families as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily activity records
- Follow all health, safety, and program policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift approximately 15–25 lbs as needed
- Assist participants with mobility and daily activities when necessary
