Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers with installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers to ensure a secure working environment
- Carry materials such as shingles, metal panels, insulation, and other roofing components to designated areas on the site
- Support with demolition tasks including removing old roofing materials and debris cleanup to prepare for new installations
- Follow blueprints, schematics, and instructions to ensure precise placement of roofing materials and components
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to meet project demands
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction or roofing is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic construction site procedures
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics is a plus for understanding project layouts
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working at heights
- Knowledge of safety practices related to construction sites and roofing operations
- Basic carpentry skills such as framing or trim carpentry are beneficial
- Strong teamwork attitude with excellent communication skills
