Responsibilities

• Install new roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, metal panels, flat roofs, and membrane systems, ensuring precise alignment and secure fastening.
• Repair and replace damaged or aging roofs by inspecting existing structures and performing necessary maintenance or upgrades.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute roofing plans.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install roofing components with precision.
• Conduct construction inspections to verify quality standards, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
• Coordinate with project managers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of roofing with other building systems.
• Utilize construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and resource allocation for roofing projects.
• Use heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation tasks related to roofing projects.
• Perform surface preparation tasks such as caulking, flashing installation, trim carpentry, stucco finishing, or concrete forming as needed for roofing applications.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal while following all safety protocols.

Experience

• Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance on various types of buildings.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and safety procedures on construction sites.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating processes.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools (e.g., hammers, screwdrivers) and power tools (e.g., nail guns, drills).
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required for material handling or site prep.
• Knowledge of related trades such as masonry, framing carpentry, drywall installation (including plastering), glass installation, cabinet installation, flooring installation (including tile laying), welding, restoration work, hardscape design, or concrete finishing is a plus.
• Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety compliance and quality assurance.
