e&e is seeking a Windows AD Engineer for an onsite contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows-AD Engineer to support and manage enterprise-level Active Directory environments. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of multi-domain Active Directory infrastructure, along with associated services such as PKI, DNS, and LDAP integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server environments, automation, and troubleshooting complex authentication and directory service issues. This position works closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory domain controllers across large, multi-domain environments
- Administer and support Active Directory objects including users, groups, computers, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), permissions, and OU structures
- Monitor and resolve issues related to authentication, replication, performance, encryption, and backups across AD environments
- Design and implement solutions for high availability, scalability, and redundancy within directory services infrastructure
- Support and manage Windows Certificate Services / PKI environments including certificate lifecycle management, key generation, revocation, and security hardening
- Configure and integrate AD/LDAP services with enterprise applications and third-party products
- Collaborate with network teams to define requirements for firewalls, load balancers, and secure connectivity
- Perform audits and assist with security investigations including review of logs, group policies, and access controls
- Provide continuous monitoring and performance tuning using real-time and historical data analysis
- Develop scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell to improve operational efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to connectivity, permissions, policies, and system performance
- Partner with developers and infrastructure teams to support application integration, scalability, and system optimization
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience managing enterprise Active Directory environments in multi-domain architectures
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server environments (2012 through current versions)
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory services including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, domain trusts, and replication
- Expertise in Windows Certificate Services / PKI and certificate lifecycle management
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell
- Experience with LDAP integration and identity management concepts
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
- Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery architectures
- Experience with both Windows and Linux (RHEL) system administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills across authentication, access control, and directory services
- Ability to analyze logs, events, and system metrics for performance and security optimization
- Excellent documentation and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams
