ABAP Developer

e&e is seeking an ABAP Developer for an onsite contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!

We are seeking an experienced ABAP Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support SAP applications and integrations across enterprise environments. This role is responsible for delivering scalable technical solutions using SAP ABAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BRIM/FICA, SAP Fiori/UI5, OData services, and integration technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with functional and technical teams to translate business requirements into efficient, secure, and high-performing SAP solutions while supporting system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and production support activities.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom SAP applications, ABAP programs, enhancements, and technical solutions across SAP environments.
• Build and maintain WRICEF objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Develop and enhance SAP applications using ABAP, OO-ABAP, OData, SAP Fiori/UI5, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP-based development, and S/4HANA extensibility frameworks.
• Customize and extend SAP functionalities to support business processes such as billing, invoicing, collections, revenue recognition, account determination, and related enterprise workflows.
• Support integration between SAP systems and external platforms including CRM, ITSM tools, mobile applications, e-commerce, and third-party services.
• Develop and maintain APIs, web services, RFC connections, and secure integration frameworks using REST, SOAP, JSON/XML, and authentication protocols.
• Build and support SAP Fiori applications, including UI5 front-end development, OData modeling, backend logic, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize ABAP code, integrations, and SAP applications to improve system stability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and enhance SAP CRM Web UI / CRM_UI solutions including GENIL/BOL programming and One Order framework enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FI/CO, MM, BRIM, Security, Basis, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in technical design sessions, code reviews, transport management, testing cycles, deployment activities, and post-go-live support.
• Support SAP upgrades, patches, migrations, and system enhancement initiatives.
• Ensure SAP development aligns with clean-core, upgrade-safe, performance, and security best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including designs, specifications, test plans, deployment procedures, impact assessments, and implementation deliverables.
• Lead or participate in project activities related to enterprise SAP initiatives and support continuous process improvement efforts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• SAP ABAP development experience, including SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP Objects, OO-ABAP, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancement Frameworks, CDS Views, AMDP, and RAP-based development.
• Experience developing SAP Fiori/UI5 applications, including controller, model, and view architecture.
• Strong experience with OData service development (classical and RAP).
• Experience with SAP integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, RFCs, IDocs, Web Services, JSON/XML, and external system connectivity.
• Experience with authentication and security protocols including OAuth2, Basic Authentication, and SSL Certificates.
• Hands-on experience with SAP CRM Web UI / CRM_UI, GENIL/BOL programming, and One Order Framework.
• Experience working with SAP BRIM/FICA and related modules such as SOM, CI, and CC.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP, Business Application Studio (BAS), and cloud-aligned SAP development tools.
• Experience supporting at least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementations, major upgrades, or enterprise transformation projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional project teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating SAP with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience developing mobile-enabled SAP/Fiori applications and responsive UI solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP BRIM business processes including billing, collections, payments, revenue recognition, and contract accounts.
• Familiarity with omnichannel, retail, subscription, or enterprise billing environments.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience with UX/UI best practices and responsive application design.
