You will champion design and user experience to other parts of the business. You will travel frequently to collaborate with our Research Design & Development teams as well as establish and build relationships with our global development and manufacturing network.

Dyson are looking for an Industrial Designer, Beauty to join our Global Design and Product Experience team. This role is based at our St James Power Station Headquarters in Singapore. You will champion design and user experience to other parts of the business. You will travel frequently to collaborate with our Research Design & Development teams as well as establish and build relationships with our global development and manufacturing network.
About The Role
- Own the look and feel of Dyson's products.
- Quickly visualise multiple design solutions at a very hi-resolution.
- Support Design and Product Experience reviews with senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate daily with our global network of designers and engineers.
- Negotiate and challenge development, manufacturing, and cost limitations.
- Ensure delivery of products according to the established design vision.
- Create innovative design solutions that balance visuals, user-interaction, performance, manufacturing, and cost.
- Sweat the intricate details of the design while keeping the overall design intent in mind.
- Develop refined 3D surfaces for rendering, model building, and production.
- Deliver production A-class Surface CAD to Engineering and Tooling teams.
- Utilise digital and physical tools (models, physical rigs, renderings, 2D prints) to validate design solutions.
- Collaborate with model making resource to accurately demonstrate and communicate solutions.
- A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent
- 2 years of hands on design experience.
- Proficient in sketching, form giving, 3D surface quality, and 3D modelling.
- Proficient in 3D CAD applications (NX, Rhino, Alias, Solidworks, etc).
- Knowledgeable in continuous CAD surfacing theory.
- Knowledgeable in rendering software (Keyshot, VRed, etc).
- Proficient in 2D design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, etc).
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and down-stream product delivery.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to clearly present ideas both verbally and visually.
- Assertive and diplomatic – a great collaborator and receptive of constructive criticism.
