SUMMARY: Coordinate and participate in the daily operations for certificated and classified personnel; independently perform a variety of professional, technical and analytical functions in the areas of recruitment, selection and retention; utilize independent judgment to provide technical assistance to staff; participate in the preparation, maintenance and updating of a variety of manual and automated personnel data, reports and files as well as maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Post open positions internally and externally.
  • Assist in the screening and on-boarding of employees for the District in accordance with District policies and procedures.
  • Process new hires; prepare and explain employee paperwork including employee benefits, procedures and physical requirements; distribute, collect and process various forms and applications; arrange and follow-up for clearance on fingerprints, examinations and other employment matters.
  • Evaluate and verify employment, transcripts, and credentials of new hires for the purpose of eligibility and salary placement
  • Schedule employees, applicants, and/or other applicable individuals for orientation sessions, training sessions, and/or other related activities.
  • Review and process personnel actions related to employment, contracts, and personnel information changes; enters and updates information into a database.
  • Respond to all requests from site administrators, directors, and supervisors on personnel related questions involving positions and personnel assigned to their site or area of responsibility.
  • Provide administrative support, which may include: sorting records, coordinating meetings; preparing and disseminating communication materials; typing and creating a variety of correspondence, announcements, records, forms, and reports; and performing other related activities.
  • Respond to requests for information from employees and/or the general public over the phone, in person, and via e-mail regarding a variety of Human Relation procedures, programs, job opportunities, and/or other related information.
  • Research, compile, and analyze a variety of data and information; prepares related reports.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain a variety of activity logs, contracts, notices of employment, and/or other related items related to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provide staffing information for the Governing Board action items relating to personnel.
  • Responds to all inquiries from assigned sites and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in human resources or related administrative support and/or clerical.
  • Customer service principles.
  • HRIS and applicant tracking system.
  • Applicable laws affecting human relation operations.

Licensing/Certifications

  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).

Computer Skills

  • Demonstrated competency in computer literacy, Word and Excel.

Knowledge Of

  • Maintaining and updating data and documentation.
  • HRIS database(s) and performing data entry.
  • Techniques and methods for organizing, prioritizing, and monitoring work.
  • Principles and practices of public personnel administration including recruitment, selection, and salary administration.
  • State Credentialing for certificated staff.

  • Research techniques and methods.
  • Modern office procedures and record-keeping techniques

Positions in this class typically require: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
