Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine physical therapy needs using physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans that align with patient goals and medical requirements.
- Administer various therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy, orthopedics techniques, and geriatrics-focused treatments.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings.
- Document patient progress accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and home care routines to promote ongoing recovery outside clinical settings.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physical Therapist (PT) from an accredited program.
- Eligible for licensure with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques.
- Skilled in creating effective care plans tailored to individual needs across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Proficiency with EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Experience in discharge planning, home & community care programs, and outpatient clinics.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients effectively.
