At Dynamism, we partner with breakout startups backed by Sequoia, a16z, and Y Combinator to help them hire engineers with founder energy, people who build fast, think like owners, and thrive in zero-to-one environments.
We're hiring an AI Engineer for a Y Combinator-backed company building AI-native software for banks and commercial lenders. The company recently raised a $29M Series A and is helping leading US banks automate complex workflows that legacy platforms were not designed to handle.
You will apply AI to real operational problems, work directly with users to understand failure modes, and turn prototypes into reliable product capabilities. The role requires strong software engineering, not only model experimentation.
📍 Location: San Francisco, on-site Monday through Friday
💰 Comp Range: $160K to $265K base plus 75th-percentile equity
📈 Stage: Series A, $29M round

What You'll Own
• AI-powered workflows that automate manual lending operations
• Production systems that combine models, business logic, and human review
• Reliability, traceability, and responsible use in regulated environments
• Integrations with customer systems and operational data
• Rapid evaluation of new models, prompts, and agent patterns
• Reusable AI capabilities that strengthen the core platform
You Might Be a Fit If You…
• Are a strong software engineer with hands-on AI or LLM experience
• Have shipped production systems rather than only notebooks or demos
• Understand prompting, evaluation, model integration, and common failure modes
• Can translate an operational problem into a practical technical solution
• Communicate clearly with customers and cross-functional teams
• Enjoy fast iteration in an early-stage environment
Bonus If You've…
• Built agentic workflows or AI-assisted enterprise products
• Worked with human-in-the-loop systems
• Designed software for financial services or regulated industries
• Shipped full-stack features in TypeScript and Python
• Owned a product or deployment end-to-end
