Reports To: Quality Manager

Location: Houston, TX (Channelview area)

Amount of Travel Required: 30%

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the longevity and dependability of products, systems, or processes by identifying potential issues, analyzing failure modes, and implementing solutions to enhance performance and minimize downtime. The primary goal of a Reliability Engineer is to ensure that products meet both safety and performance standards throughout their lifecycle, from design through production to end use. Develop the necessary work instructions, checklists, and other quality documents, including, but not limited to, inspection test plans. They use data-driven methods, risk assessments, and industry best practices to optimize system reliability, perform root cause analysis, and establish maintenance schedules to maximize asset uptime. This role typically involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and maintenance departments, to ensure reliability is integrated into all phases of the product lifecycle.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")

  • Design and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s), Work Instructions, to sustain the Quality Management System.
  • Design and implement reliability testing and monitoring procedures.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs, supporting the re-powering manager.
  • Analyze product performance (Internal and External) data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct reliability analysis and risk assessments.
  • Provide training to team members and other departments on reliability practices, tools, and methodologies to raise awareness and foster a culture of reliability across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades or modifications to improve reliability, working with engineering teams to implement changes that enhance product longevity and performance.
  • Perform internal and supplier audits, providing recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • When on assignment at pad site, daily overtime required and in-person, predictable attendance.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • High School diploma required, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • At least 7 years of power plant or manufacturing experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to communicate in a technical manner within the team, cross departments, suppliers and clients.
  • Knowledge of ISO 90001 standards and requirements.
  • Ability to audit the manufacturing processes and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Efficient at Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)

  • Noise Level: Moderate to high noise levels due to machinery and activities.
  • Social Interaction: Interaction with colleagues and warehouse staff; teamwork is essential.

 

Third-Party Power Generation Sites:

  • Temperature: Can vary based on location, potential exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Lighting: Variable lighting conditions may require artificial lighting in certain areas.
  • Ventilation: Natural ventilation with potential exposure to open-air environments.
  • Noise Level: Moderate to high noise levels due to machinery and power generation activities.
  • Social Interaction: Interaction with site personnel, adherence to safety protocols is crucial.
  • In all environments, the ability to adapt to varying conditions, work independently or collaboratively, and adhere to deadlines is essential for successful task completion.
