Job Title: Senior Associate – Middle Office Operations
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing Credit team as the first dedicated hire focused on operations and execution. This is a cross-functional role that will play a critical part in building and scaling our credit platform, working across the full investment lifecycle—from trade execution and processing to settlement, closing, and post-trade analysis. The position reports directly to the Head of Operations and works closely with investment professionals and teams across legal, compliance, accounting, finance, and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, best-in-class operational workflows, policies, and procedures across leveraged loans, corporate bonds, and a broad set of private credit assets.
- Oversee day-to-day deal execution and lifecycle management of transactions, collaborating with both internal stakeholders (portfolio managers, legal, compliance, finance, settlements) and external parties (borrowers, sponsors, custodians, sell-side firms).
- Manage credit-related corporate actions such as reorganizations, amendments, and bankruptcies, ensuring accurate and timely handling across systems and teams.
- Build, maintain, and enhance operational infrastructure supporting front-to-back office processes, with a focus on trade processing, post-trade reconciliation, and global settlement efficiency.
- Serve as a key contributor to new fund launches, platform integrations, and client onboarding efforts, including OMS/PMS system implementations (e.g., Enfusion, Eze, LiquidityBook).
- Partner with engineering and technology teams to identify workflow gaps and opportunities for automation or system improvement, leveraging tools such as SQL or VBA.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with global market regulations and industry best practices, including emerging standards like T 1 settlement and affirmation timelines.
- Provide high-quality service to internal teams and external clients through effective communication, issue resolution, and continuous process optimization.
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at building out a world-class credit platform, identifying areas for operational efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience in credit operations, deal execution, or middle office functions within asset management, investment banking, or a hedge fund environment.
- Strong product knowledge across private credit, including syndicated loans, direct lending, ABS, and other structured products.
- Demonstrated success in managing trade lifecycle workflows, post-trade processes, and system implementations.
- Experience with OMS/PMS platforms (e.g., Enfusion, Eze, LiquidityBook) and trade matching platforms (e.g., CTM, Nyfix).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives independently and work across multiple stakeholders.
- Technically adept; familiarity with SQL, VBA, or other automation tools a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and team-first mindset with a passion for improving operations in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
