Overview
We are currently seeking an Accident Reconstruction Technician to support our consulting staff in our main office located in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
An Accident Reconstruction Technician will be responsible for assisting on a variety of tasks within our office depending on the requests of the consulting staff. With guidance from the consulting staff, a technician will be responsible for assisting in vehicle inspections, scene inspections, imaging of a variety of vehicles, flying a Small Unmanned Aerial system (sUAS) and a variety of other tasks to provide consulting services for our clients. Essential Job Functions
- Assist the consultant in scene and vehicle inspections including inspections of passenger vehicles, heavy vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and trains.
- Perform imaging of Event Data Recorders.
- Create 3-D renderings of vehicle models and sUAS photogrammetry.
- Create CAD drawings.
- Create animations of our investigations and their results.
- Assist in vehicle testing including ADAS systems, car-to-car collisions, motorcycle collisions and pedestrian collisions.
- Prepare and present demonstrative diagrams and charts and provide an analysis of the cause of various incidents.
- Document and preserve evidence, as necessary.
Required Experience, Education, And Certifications
- A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics is preferred.
- A BS degree in Criminal Justice with law enforcement experience is also acceptable.
- Must have strong technical writing skills.
- Physically able to climb ladders, walk on uneven and unleveled surfaces, enter and work in confined spaces, and crawl under vehicles to inspect damage.
- ACTAR certification or Illinois Crash Reconstruction Specialist or the ability to achieve these certifications is necessary.

- Must be able to assist on several investigations at once. Organizational skills, time management, ability to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with clients and other professionals both within our company and as a representative of Dynamic Safety at inspections.
- Independent judgement and strong analytical skills are essential.
- Ability to learn or prior knowledge of multiple software applications including Microsoft Office, Computer-aided Drawing (CAD) software and other analytical software. A strong computer and technology background is essential.
Physical Demands and Travel Requirements
Physical Demands β This job requires frequent movement, including walking, standing, climbing, bending, balance and kneeling. This job also requires the ability to get underneath heavy vehicles as well as crawling around inside vehicles that are heavily damaged when necessary. Must be able to perform inspections, physically move debris, inspect vehicles, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. You may be required to lift and/or move detached vehicle components and other large items that could weigh up to 100 pounds.
Travel Requirements - This position requires travel across the country both driving and flying. Overnight travel will be required.
Salary : $70,000
