day.What You'll DoOrchestrate seamless day-to-day payroll operations across multiple California locations, ensuring every employee receives accurate, timely compensation while maintaining impeccable attention to detail across union and non-union payrolls.Oversee comprehensive regulatory compliance by preparing, reconciling, and filing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll records in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.Lead and develop a talented team of payroll administrators, providing hands-on coaching, mentorship, and training that elevates their skills and strengthens the department's overall effectiveness.Calculate and verify complex union and non-union wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions with precision, ensuring full compliance with statutory reporting requirements and Collective Bargaining Agreements.Expertly prepare, reconcile, and submit quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness.Safeguard the integrity of employee data within accounting systems, performing regular audits and updates to ensure information remains current and error-free.Collaborate effectively and reconciling associated accounts with accuracy.To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring:5 years of comprehensive, hands-on payroll processing experience working with exempt, non-exempt, and union employees, demonstrating deep knowledge of payroll concepts, principles, and regulations.2 years of direct experience with Certified Payroll and prevailing wage requirements (strongly preferred), with the ability to navigate the complexities of government contracting and compliance reporting.5-10 years of proven payroll team leadership, with strong supervisory skills and a track record of building high-performing teams through effective mentorship and guidance.Thorough understanding of payroll's connection to the general ledger, including demonstrated ability to reconcile payroll accounts and understand financial impacts.Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF(S) formulas that enable efficient data analysis and reporting.Solid working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements and union payroll processes, with the confidence to interpret and apply complex contract language accurately.Comprehensive understanding of all applicable local, state, and federal payroll regulations and proper pay practices, with a commitment to staying current as laws evolve.Outstanding communication abilities that allow you to explain complex payroll matters clearly while maintaining strict confidentiality with sensitive employee information.Exceptional organizational skills and the
