Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home environments. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Document care activities, patient observations, and any incidents clearly in compliance with healthcare standards
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, patient monitoring, and medication administration
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and basic nursing skills are highly desirable
- Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
- Experience working with seniors or individuals requiring long-term or home health care is preferred
