Job Overview
We are seeking a Dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute across all phases of a project, including preconstruction, active construction, and closeout. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are accurately estimated, efficiently managed, and successfully delivered. Your proactive approach and construction expertise will help drive project success while maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Preconstruction Phase:
- Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates using industry-standard software
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to define scope, identify risks, and uncover cost-saving opportunities
- Support subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid leveling, and scope clarification
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans aligned with client and company requirements
During Construction Phase:
- Assist in managing day-to-day project operations, including coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
- Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and contract requirements
- Track project costs, identify variances, and support implementation of cost control measures
- Maintain thorough documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence
- Support negotiations and procurement efforts to maintain budget and schedule goals
Closeout Phase:
- Assist in project closeout activities, including punch list coordination and resolution
- Ensure completion and collection of all closeout documentation, such as warranties, as-builts, and O&M manuals
- Support final cost reconciliation and project reporting
- Help ensure a smooth project turnover to the client, maintaining strong client satisfaction
Requirements
- ***Must have a driver's license***
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management
- Proficiency with software such as Bluebeam or similar for digital plan review
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, contracts, and cost control strategies
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- On-field experience with a solid understanding of safety protocols and jobsite operations
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately
