Summary
We are seeking a skilled Multi-stage Vertical/Horizontal Pump Mechanic to repair, fabricate, troubleshoot, and rebuild a wide range of rotating equipment. This includes centrifugal (single and multi‑stage), gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, as well as gear reducers, blowers, mechanical seals, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with vertical turbine pumps and can produce accurate inspection reports.

Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and pump documentation
- Use micrometers, dial indicators, and precision measuring tools
- Safely operate mechanics’ hand tools, presses, torches, and pullers
- Perform pump and motor alignments
- Rebuild and install mechanical seals
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vertical pumps, horizontal pumps, and other rotating equipment
- Complete clear, concise inspection and repair reports
- Strong working knowledge of fits, clearances, and pump tolerances
- Proficient with micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
- Solid math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to produce accurate inspection documentation
- Experience working on vertical turbine pumps required
- High school diploma required
Preferred Skills / Additional Considerations
- Ability to perform laser alignments
- Ability to take vibration readings
- Experience with multi‑stage vertical pumps is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability
- Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Training/Certifications: Ability to perform laser alignments and ability to take vibration readings preferred
- Shift Time/Overtime: First Shift with Overtime as required
- Travel: N/A
- Education: High School Diploma
