Summary
The HSE Coordinator will conduct facility inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken. Facilitate training to new employees and monitoring their compliance with safety training. Responsibilities include presenting the Behavioral-Based Safety Program, supplying Personal Protective Equipment, maintaining safety documentation, conducting monthly safety meetings, and managing training records. The position also involves reporting accidents to HSE Corporate, coordinating hazardous waste disposal, and ensuring DOT compliance through audits and inspections.
Responsibilities of the HSE Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities of the HSE Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct facility inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed from the findings of the inspections
- Facilitate all relevant training to new employees
- Monitor and ensure all employees are current on required training
- Present the Behavioral Base Safety Program to new employees
- Ensure applicable Personal Protective Equipment is available for employees
- Maintain current Safety Data Sheets and HSE required facility files
- Whenever possible participate and lead monthly safety meetings
- Maintain training records and input of training data
- Communication of Safety Message to employees
- Implement new/revised policy, procedures, and programs
- Direct and when necessary, lead Incident and Accident Investigations, ensuring proper policy and procedures are being followed.
- Report incidents and accidents to Regional Management and HSE Corporate and complete all paperwork required (accident investigation and workers' comp)
- Coordinate the disposal of hazardous waste
- Maintain Department of Transportation files on DOT employees and audit DOT log books
- Ensure DOT trucks have current annual inspection
- Conduct audits on vehicle to ensure compliance
- Any other reasonable request made by Regional Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment required
- 1 year of public speaking experience preferred
- Intermediate computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Credentials for Instruction of First Aid-CPR, Excavation, Scaffolding, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10 or 30, MSHA Miner training preferred
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Understanding of regulatory training requirements, OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. (not all required)
- ISNetworld experience a plus, but not required
- Physical Demand: Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Working Conditions: Mainly shop and office with occasional field visits
- Training/Certifications: Basic certifications relevant to region – additional training will be provided
- Shift Time/Overtime: 40 hour per week
- Travel: Limited travel with region, occasional overnight
- Education: BA in Occupational Health or equivalent or 5 years Industrial Safety experience
