Job Summary
The Process Specialist position is responsible for coordinating the engineering design release and change management processes for the engineering design team. This includes developing and implementing continuous improvement activities that support the overall goals and objectives of the company. 
The primary responsibility of the Process Specialist is to ensure the compliances to the engineering design and change processes, and the project deliverables are implemented on time. This role requires effective communication and close collaboration with various departments to coordinate the continuous improvement of related processes and procedures.

 

Responsibilities
The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. DVM retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.
•    Engineering Process and System:
     o    Maintain robust engineering processes and systems. 
     o    Provide training to engineering and other departments on new processes and standards.
     o    Serve as a coordinator to ensure clear and transparent communication between all departments.
•    Documentation and Reporting:
     o    Keep detailed records of engineering project design statuses
     o    Communicate upcoming due dates to relevant engineers
     o    Maintain engineering release to production files and folder structure. Ensure all necessary files are accounted for and changes communicated to relevant stakeholders.
     o    Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure engineering has captured full scope of submittals. 
     o    Communicate issues to relevant stakeholders and lead or coordinate resolution efforts.
•    Continuous Improvement:
     o    Identify opportunities for process improvement to meet DVM business goals.
     o    Facilitate implementation of new processes
     o    Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

 

Qualifications/Experience
•    Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred.
•    Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and lean principles is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements
•    The work environment is primarily office-based, with a quiet to moderate noise level and traditional lighting.
•    Wear the proper PPE when visiting warehouses or transportation facilities.
•    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer.
•    Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
•    Must be able to travel between DVM locations as needed. Some travel could require overnight stays.
