The Duxbury Public Schools is seeking exceptional candidates to apply for the position of Director of Instructional Technology Digital Innovation. The expected start date for this position is July 1, 2026.


The duties of the position include:

  • Provide district-wide leadership to support PK-12 curriculum and effective technology integration
  • Lead the district’s digital learning work in setting and updating policies and procedures with key stakeholders, including the school committee, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community members
  • Oversee the district’s technology plan, the district’s Comprehensive Digital Use Agreement, and the district’s technology policies
  • Serve as a district leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implications for teaching and learning.
  • Assist with leading and supporting STEM teachers, K-12 librarians, and technology support personnel
  • Partner with administrators, curriculum supervisors, faculty, and K-12 librarians to develop and integrate curriculum based on the MA Digital Literacy and Computer Science Framework (DLCS)
  • Participate in the decision-making of instructional technology hardware, software, and monitor usage, and determine if there are redundancies or new technologies that can more effectively and efficiently serve teachers and students
  • Execute and manage Massachusetts student data privacy agreements with all vendors and maintain a database shared with the Assistant Superintendent and Chief Technology Officer
  • Serve as MCAS system administrator, ensuring that district technology and systems integrate with state assessment software and systems; communicate with administrators and faculty in preparation for yearly MCAS administration
  • Maintain the public-facing district data dashboard, ensuring system integration of organizational strategic plan initiatives, academic growth, and accountability measures
  • With the administrative staff, identify technology training needs, develop, coordinate, and facilitate hands-on professional development for new or current technology resources and techniques.
  • Work with the administration and school committee to ensure that educational technology initiatives are aligned with district student achievement goals
  • Work collaboratively with administrators and faculty to make continuous improvements in techniques and procedures related to the educational technology programs
  • Keep informed of new developments and trends in the field of technology so that innovations, new materials, and equipment may be piloted and/or purchased and used in the district
  • Serve as an instructional leader by working directly in classrooms, providing coaching, modeling best practices, and supporting the integration of technology to enhance learning.
  • Communicate with families, staff, and students about student learning and educational technology practices (i.e. parent trainings/workshops, communication information via newsletter, etc.)
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent and other district administrators and teachers, develop funding strategies to support educational technology initiatives that include federal, state, and local grant opportunities, state and local budgets, and other relevant opportunities
  • Update and oversee the district website, oversee student information system (SIS) integration with all district technology integrations, including learning management systems (i.e. Aspen, Schoology, and Securly Classroom), ensuring seamless integration between district systems and third-party applications
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholder groups, including faculty, technology staff, students, administrators, vendors, consultants, and community members
  • Attend and present at school committee meetings as requested
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Leadership, or a related field
  • Previous teaching and experience as an administrator in Educational Technology
  • Certification: Current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure: Supervisor/Director (Non-Core)
  • Experience: Proven track record in leading large-scale digital initiatives, an understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and experience managing complex digital privacy landscapes

Salary is commensurate with experience and relevant licensure.
