About the Role
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for selling Dutch Valley Foods products to a diverse customer base, including Independent Supermarkets, Country Stores, and Bulk Food Stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sell a wide range of products, including bulk food items, delicatessen/refrigerated/frozen items, and manufactured goods
- Conduct sales calls to establish relationships with influential decision-makers and uncover new business opportunities
- Maintain a strong focus on new business development to drive long-term growth
- Use a consultative selling approach to forge lasting relationships and increase customer loyalty
- Optimize store visits and customer interactions to boost sales and profits
- Provide merchandising solutions to customers to improve turnover and overall profitability
Requirements
- College degree preferred or 3 years of retail experience required
- Minimum 2 years of B2B experience in the food, grocery, deli, retail, or sales industry
- Strong cold calling skills, listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience with CRM software and MS Office/Outlook preferred
- Superior time management skills, flexibility, and willingness to travel frequently (up to 60% of the time)
- Safe driving record
