This part-time position is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day Human Resource functions. The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and HR projects. This position serves as a resource to employees and managers on basic HR policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.


Essential Job Functions

  •  Schedule interviews and pre-employment testing appointments.
  •  Perform personnel file maintenance and document preparations.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  •  Assist with new-employee orientations and all onboard and off-boarding documentation.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
  •  Assist the HR Department with HR projects and all filings.
  • Maintain HR calendar

Preferred Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college; or at least one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Courses completed in the area of Business Administration and/or HR preferred. Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required.


Computer Skills

Familiar with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications. At a minimum, intermediate-level skills in Excel and Word. Experience with QuickBooks required.


Language Skills

Ability to read and effectively interpret documents and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and accounting skills.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, bend, and stoop.


 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time temporary internship position from July 2026 through December 2026. Core hours of work are Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.


Travel

Minimal travel to various satellite worksites may be required.

Compensation 

$19.00-$22.00 per hour


Dust Bowl Brewing Co. compensation package includes 5 days/40 hours of paid sick leave. Employees receive a 25% discount on alcohol, food served in the location-specific taproom(s), to-go beer, or Dust Bowl merch.
