Physical Therapist – Human Performance Specialist

Position Summary
DURO Health is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist with a strong foundation in
orthopedic and sports rehabilitation to provide performance-based musculoskeletal care
to industrial athletes. These populations include individuals working in physically
demanding, high-risk industries such as manufacturing, aviation, public safety, maritime
operations, logistics, and technical trades.
This role supports the full continuum of human performance by focusing on injury
prevention, capacity development, and return-to-work strategies that enhance worker
safety, durability, productivity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver evidence-based physical therapy evaluation and treatment for
musculoskeletal injury and pain conditions.
-Develop structured return-to-work programs aligned with job tasks, physical
requirements, and certification standards.
-Perform movement screening and functional capacity assessments to reduce risk
and improve work performance.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary human performance teams (e.g., Strength &
Conditioning, ATC, Ergonomics, Nutrition, Behavioral Health).
- Implement injury-prevention strategies and assist with ergonomic consultation to
reduce work-related MSDs.
- Track, report, and interpret readiness and injury-trend data to guide proactive
program improvements.
- Educate workers, supervisors, and safety personnel on body mechanics, load
management, movement efficiency, and self-care strategies.
- Support task-specific conditioning that promotes strength, stamina, mobility, and
resilience under real-world operational demands.
- Maintain compliance with all health documentation, privacy expectations, and
professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree
Unrestricted state license to practice Physical Therapy
Strong background in orthopedic and sports performance rehabilitation
Experience working with physically demanding or occupational populations
Ability to work independently in fast-paced operational environments
Effective communicator with a team-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Board certification: OCS, SCS, or equivalent advanced credential
Experience in with Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) / McKenzie Method
Experience with MedX spinal strengthening equipment
Additional professional qualifications (e.g., CSCS, MDT, FMS/SFMA, Ergonomics
Certifications)
Experience evaluating workplace demands and designing functional training
programs
Familiarity with human performance testing, biomechanical technology, or
performance analytics platforms
