Purchasing Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-driven and experienced Purchasing Specialist to manage day-to-day procurement operations, vendor coordination, and inventory control for our manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end purchasing lifecycles—from issuing purchase orders and tracking vendor deliveries to ensuring strict compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience utilizing JobBOSS ERP (or similar manufacturing ERP systems) and a solid working knowledge of ISO quality management and API (American Petroleum Institute) industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement Execution: Manage the requisition-to-order cycle, generating and tracking Purchase Orders (POs) for raw materials, components, and services required to support production schedules.
• ERP Data Management: Utilize JobBOSS ERP daily to manage inventory levels, input vendor pricing, track order statuses, update delivery commitments, and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials and vendor processes strictly adhere to ISO standards and API requirements, maintaining complete traceability and documentation for audits.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Maintain proactive communication with approved suppliers to confirm order acknowledgments, resolve delivery discrepancies, expedite critical parts, and manage RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production, Quality Control, and Finance (AP) teams to align purchasing schedules with shop floor demands and resolve invoice or receiving discrepancies.
• Sourcing & Cost Optimization: Assist in evaluating supplier performance, gathering quotes, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining strict adherence to quality specifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing, machining, or industrial environment (valve or flow control manufacturing experience is a strong plus).
• ERP Proficiency: Proven, hands-on experience using JobBOSS ERP (or comparable job-shop manufacturing ERP software) for purchasing and inventory workflows.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of ISO quality management systems and API manufacturing specifications (e.g., API 6D, 6A, or related valve/industrial standards).
