Position Summary:

To maintain plant equipment and physical facility so production can run efficiently and safely within parameters established by local, state and federal laws. Ensure spare parts are kept and inventoried so downtime is minimal. Develop and implement changes in equipment and processes (in coordination with Plant Manager) to improve productivity and quality and to decrease costs. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on coating and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Maintain and repair blast equipment, dust collection systems, recovery systems, and media handling equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair industrial curing ovens, burners, temperature controls, circulation fans, and conveyor systems.
  • Maintain coating application equipment including spray systems, pumps, pressure pots, hoses, guns, and automated coating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, limit switches, VFDs, relays, and motor controls.
  • Perform conveyor maintenance including chains, drives, bearings, sprockets, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities in PM systems or maintenance logs.
  • Communicate equipment status, downtime events, maintenance priorities, and parts availability during daily production board meetings.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and management teams regarding equipment performance and repair schedules.
  • Contact vendors to troubleshoot equipment issues, obtain technical support, source replacement components, and identify equipment improvements.
  • Research, order, and track maintenance parts and supplies to ensure critical spares are available and downtime is minimized.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and metalworking to repair, modify, and improve equipment and plant infrastructure.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend stocking levels for critical components.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
  • Follow all environmental, safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience working with industrial ovens, conveyors, coating systems, blast equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, production personnel, and management regarding equipment status and maintenance activities.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation, inventory management, and parts ordering.
