Compensation: $16 - $18/hr.

Job Summary: Do you love museums? Are you a railfan and enthusiast of local history? If you could spend your days surrounded by historical relics and tales from the past, would you? If so, you might be just what we're looking for! The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum is seeking a friendly, outgoing candidate for Museum Attendant. This position will regularly converse with the public about museum displays, lead yard tours, assist with setting up various collections and hosting events in our world-class museum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests as they arrive to the museum, provide guidance on various displays and assist with questions, as needed.
- Lead yard tours providing detailed information about the railroad and its history.
- Provide quality customer service and assistance to visitors in the museum.
- Clean, organize, inventory museum assets.
Education, Skill and Work Experience:
- Experience working in customer service industry, preferred.
- Comfort speaking to large groups, required.
- Zest for learning railroad history and relaying that information to our guests, required.
Work Environment:
- Ability to walk and stand on hard-surface floors up to 10 hours per day
- Ability to bend, kneel or lift up to 20 pounds
- Some time spent outdoors in variable weather
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
