Job Summary
The Technical Product Manager is responsible for providing technical assistance to Account Managers, Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D, and Customers. Acts as coordinator between these groups for problem resolution and product development.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of product design and functionality.
- Identify any problems with the implementation or available resources that may affect the schedule or budget and communicate such problems accordingly.
- Analyze the risks of a new design or process and communicate results to Technical Director.
- Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is produced based on the intended functionality of the design.
- Interface with others in the organization and customers/suppliers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to End Users; Customers, Sales, Marketing and R&D.
- Participate in assigned projects relating to new product introductions. Product modifications, cost reduction programs or problem-solving issues.
- Initiate field calls with Account Managers for the purpose of product qualifications or problem resolution.
- Develop and qualify new application opportunities identified through Converters, Account Managers, Marketing and End Users.
- Support customer where no product defect is evident, complaint avoidance.
- Plan, organize, manage and coordinate development projects related to improvements to existing products/processes, introduction of new products, and/or alternate material evaluations.
- Recommend improvements to procedures, methods, processes, materials and equipment which will raise the level of quality and reduce scrap or waste.
- Maintain knowledge of technical advancement in materials, processes and equipment related to the pressure sensitive industry.
- Work overtime and travel as assigned.
- Assist Customer Service with partnership accounts.

Qualifications: Required Skills, Education, and Experience
- Associate’s degree in a technical field; preferably Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science with excellent hands-on lab experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in product management preferred in a manufacturing or technical product environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications and specifications.
- Understanding and experience with PSAs and PSTC testing methods is desired to help complement release liner and Silicone coating formulation development
- Experience with development methodologies including project management, stage-gate, ideation, Design of Experiments (DOE), IP management, and literature and patent research
- Good knowledge of additives, formulation processing, applications, and analytical test methods as they relate to the development of Si release coating formulations
- Experience in Silicone release coating and web handling processes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced experience in Excel and analytics programs (e.g., Minitab, JMP, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support key customer relationships.

The position is primarily performed in an office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The role occasionally requires visits to the manufacturing plant floor, where the individual may encounter moderate noise levels, temperature fluctuations, fumes or airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts. During these visits, compliance with OSHA safety standards, SQF regulations, and company safety policies is mandatory, including the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toe safety shoes and safety glasses.
The position involves extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as frequent verbal and written communication. Occasional standing and walking on the plant floor is required, along with the ability to navigate safely around equipment and production areas. The individual may need to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as files, laptops, or safety gear, and must be able to wear PPE when necessary.
