POSITION SUMMARY:
The Duquesne University Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine
(DUQ-NCOM) invites applications for a medical school admissions recruiter. This position seeks an energetic,
highly service-oriented, and self-directed professional who will lead efforts
to increase student enrollment for the medical school.
This
position is involved in recruitment activities for assigned degree programs,
including the Masters in Biomedical Sciences (MBS), the Doctorate of
Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and its Early Assurance Program through travel to
partnering institutions and relevant conferences/recruitment fairs. The position requires yearly planning,
working with all prospective students, collaborating with faculty and staff,
building relationships with potential partnering institutions, and fostering
community partnerships.

DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works
alongside the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs in developing
and managing yearly recruitment policies, procedures, and plans to increase
program awareness and inquiry regarding DUQ-NCOM’s programs, and ensure enrollment
goals are met, including the planning of on- and off-campus recruitment events
as well as virtual and in-person interview days and special events to optimize
yield from admission to deposit to matriculation.
Provides
advising and support through the admissions process for prospective students
including information gathering, the application and interview process, and all
ongoing follow-ups via phone, e-mail, and in-person visits.
Develops
and maintains positive relationships with current and potential partnering
schools, organizations, professional networks, non-profits, etc. to identify
and cultivate academic opportunities and to ensure informed student engagement
with our programs.
Prepares
and presents professional on-campus and off-campus information sessions,
interview day presentations, and large yield events, both in-person and
virtually, for recruitment of new students from undergraduate, graduate, and
professional programs and to increase community awareness of our academic
programs target undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
Works
with the University marketing department to contribute to the various
communication materials needed to promote the degree programs and various
programs/services offered by DUQ-NCOM.
Assists
the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs in creating regular
reports concerning the status of recruitment and the current enrollment of
students across all assigned programs, for presentation to COM and University
stakeholders as well as for reporting purposes.
Uphold
the highest standards for regionally accredited, competitive programs.
Completes other
duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Previous
college admissions/recruitment experience.
Strong
written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent skills in
marketing, emerging technology, and social media.
Bachelor's
degree from an accredited educational institution.
Must
have a valid driver's license in good standing.
This
position requires daytime and some overnight travel as well as some night and
weekend work throughout the year. Travel to partnering and feeder schools and
essential conferences and events is an essential part of this position, for
enrollment, networking, and visibility purposes.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's
degree from an accredited educational institution preferred.
Experience
with graduate health science populations preferred.
Experience
managing applications through the WEBADMIT/SLATE systems preferred.

the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience
and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to
perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the

Successful candidates will possess outstanding verbal and written
communication skills, public speaking skills, with a proven background in sales
preferred. Extremely strong organizational skills, along with the interpersonal
skills necessary to communicate with diverse constituencies in a fast-paced
environment are important to be successful in this position. Creative,
energetic team players that have the capability to work independently,
efficiently, and effectively in a collaborative team are highly desired.
