Own the full payables cycle for a growing commercial landscape contractor, and be the person vendors and subcontractors know they can count on.
Dupper Landscape is a leading commercial landscape contractor and maintenance provider serving the Phoenix Metropolitan area. We're hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage invoice-to-payment for construction and maintenance accounts spanning residential, commercial, and municipal clients. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who takes real ownership of their process, not just data entry.
What You'll Do
- Receive, log, and enter vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders and confirming sales tax, PO, and vendor details before payment.
- Spot and capture early-payment discount opportunities by processing payments on schedule.
- Keep vendor records current — W-9s, insurance compliance, contact info, payment terms — and readily accessible.
- Reconcile vendor statements and invoices, resolving discrepancies alongside the purchasing team.
- Review open payables, prepare checks, and schedule ACH disbursements within agreed terms.
- Reconcile credit card statements and post verified expenses to vendor accounts.
- Prepare, send, and track vendor and subcontractor lien waivers as needed.
- Set up vendor records for annual 1099 filing and support accounting leadership at year-end.
What You Bring
- 1–2 years of accounts payable experience.
- Construction or landscape maintenance AP experience strongly preferred — comfort with progress billing, lien waivers, and AIA billing applications is a major plus.
- An associate's degree in accounting/business, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Sharp attention to detail and comfort learning new accounting and job-costing software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle shifting priorities without missing deadlines.
- A professional, discreet communicator who builds trust with clients, vendors, and coworkers.
