Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; and four years of general work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses Or Certifications
A Projects Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will perform unskilled general labor and maintenance work for City parks, streets, facilities and infrastructure in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- The development and maintenance of park areas.
- Under supervision, overseeing the work of the Work Order Maintenance Crew, Projects Crew, Area Maintenance Workers, and Senior Shop Inventory Technician.
- Leading crews in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Responsible for park systems maintenance, construction, renovation, and other assigned areas.
- Providing administrative reports as required.
- Provide some estimating, obtaining material quotes, and purchasing of various supplies.
- May perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, concrete, masonry, and metal work.
- May operate and maintain a variety of specialized equipment and performs general manual labor tasks in order to maintain parks, streets, infrastructure and City facilities as assigned; duties will vary according to job assignment and individual skills; responds to emergencies as needed.
- Performing maintenance and repairs within scope of authority, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; reports safety hazards, equipment problems and emergency situations.
- May operate and maintain a variety of tools and specialized equipment.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of parks and roadways; maintaining landscaping and grounds; clearing trash, brush, weeds and debris from roadways, structures, grounds and facilities.
- May clean and maintain City facilities; make minor facility repairs; assist with the construction of new facilities and installation of equipment.
- Cleaning and storing hazardous materials according to City policy and procedures.
- Periodically provides some on-call, and over-time services on work days, weekends and holidays.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm to include some weekends and holidays
Requirements And Skills
- Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tools and equipment needed for assigned work.
- Giving and following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Skill in completing records and other required documentation.
- Providing leadership and training to subordinates.
- Good computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; and four years of general work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses Or Certifications
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Obtain Certified Playground Safety Inspector certificate from National Playground Safety Institute within two years of employment in this position.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time; to work in extreme weather conditions.
- May require constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and carry up to 63 pounds.
