Position Overview
The Member Service Associate builds and strengthens Member relationships through personalized service, proactive follow-up, and consultative financial conversations. This role supports everyday banking and lending needs, processes transactions accurately, and identifies opportunities to recommend products and services that support Members’ financial goals while contributing to overall branch success.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and strengthen Member relationships through personalized service, proactive follow-up, and consultative financial conversations.
• Identify Member needs and recommend financial products and services that support financial goals and deepen Member relationships.
• Perform cash and non-cash transactions accurately while adhering to credit union procedures, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Support account servicing and consumer lending activities, including loan applications, disbursements, and digital banking support.
• Collaborate effectively with branch team members and internal departments to resolve Member concerns, support operational success, and deliver exceptional Member experience.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or related coursework preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Teller, Senior Teller, Universal Banker, Personal Banker, or customer-focused financial services role required.
• Experience building relationships, identifying Member needs, and recommending financial products or services
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to create personalized Member experiences
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced, relationship-focused environment
Work Environment
Work is performed in a public-facing branch environment with frequent Member interaction. The role requires extended periods of standing at the teller line, intermittent walking, and regular use of computers and telephones, with seating available behind the teller line as operationally appropriate. Responsibilities may include occasional lifting and moving of equipment, coins, and supplies, as well as routine document handling. The position requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Reasonable accommodation is available in accordance with the ADA and applicable laws.
