Capacity Manager (Remote | Up to 10% Travel)
The ideal candidate is passionate about performance optimization, proactive planning, and data-driven decision-making. You will partner closely with architecture, engineering, operations, and service owners to identify capacity risks, improve system performance, and support long-term technology planning across compute, storage, network, cloud, and application environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain an ITIL-based capacity management framework covering business, service, and component capacity planning across enterprise systems.
- Monitor and analyze performance and utilization metrics across servers, virtual infrastructure, storage, databases, networks, and applications to proactively identify bottlenecks and performance risks.
- Develop forecasting models and capacity plans using historical trends, projected business growth, and upcoming initiatives to support infrastructure scaling and modernization efforts.
- Create executive-level dashboards, reports, and recommendations that translate technical performance data into actionable business insights related to cost, risk, and service availability.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to integrate capacity planning into solution design, release management, and change processes.
- Lead optimization initiatives including rightsizing, consolidation, virtualization, and cloud scalability strategies to improve efficiency, resilience, and cost management.
- Support continuous service improvement by integrating capacity management with incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Contribute to strategic infrastructure planning efforts supporting enterprise modernization and mission readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, service management, or enterprise operations with a strong focus on capacity planning and performance analysis.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting complex performance data and trends.
- SECRET security clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and ITSM platforms supporting automated reporting, threshold alerting, and trend analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud capacity planning concepts including autoscaling, reserved instances, hybrid environments, and workload optimization.
- Experience supporting federal government agencies or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
Salary : $78,000 - $116,000
