Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Jobber, or similar platforms.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and record journal entries to reflect financial activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to ensure data accuracy.
- Support budgeting efforts by analyzing account activity and preparing financial reports for management review.
- Perform account analysis, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to uphold precise financial records.
- Collaborate on governmental accounting projects and ensure adherence to non-profit or corporate accounting standards as applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency in popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, , Quicken, and other financial management tools.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and journal entries.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles relevant to corporate or non-profit organizations.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, account reconciliation, and 10-key typing with high accuracy.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, accounts payable/receivable management, and governmental accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as budgeting, financial report writing, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
