Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University School of Medicine Durham, NC. The Postdoctoral Associate will be engaged in conducting advanced scientific research, designing and executing laboratory experiments, and analyzing data to contribute to ongoing projects. Responsibilities also include academic contributions such as mentoring junior researchers or students.
The Blasi Lab:
The Blasi laboratory is located within the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI). DHVI is an interdisciplinary, interdepartmental institute dedicated to the study of basic and translational science required to understand host-pathogen interactions that can be translated to countermeasures against human diseases.
The Blasi laboratory has two main areas of research: 1) understanding the mechanisms and implications of viral infections in the kidney, including HIV and SARS-CoV-2 and 2) development of countermeasures against a variety of infectious diseases. Working at the interface of basic, clinical and translational research, we collaborate with multiple laboratories at Duke as well as other national and international institutions.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be creative, highly motivated, and have the ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team. This candidate must be very enthusiastic about conducting research and willing to undertake multiple projects.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong laboratory skills and proficiency in conducting scientific experiments
- Experience in research and data analysis to interpret experimental results effectively
- Solid foundation in virology/immunology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field
- Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
