Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked and organized
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending relevant items
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing stockroom areas, and conducting regular stock checks
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Support cashiering duties including processing payments, issuing receipts, and managing returns or exchanges
- Ensure adherence to store policies on cash handling, safety procedures, and customer privacy
- Collaborate with team members to create a lively, welcoming shopping environment
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math for cash handling and transactions
- Experience in grocery store or retail environments is advantageous
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays
