JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Patient Service Associate to contact insurance companies via website or by phone initiating prior authorization for upcoming surgery. Documenting prior authorization in Duke/Cone Epic and well as working with authorization team at surgical facilities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contact insurance companies via website or by phone initiating prior authorization for upcoming surgery.
- Documenting prior authorization in Duke/Cone Epic.
- Scheduling peer to peer reviews and reconsiderations for denied procedures.
- Coordinating authorizations with surgical facilities.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public; preferably in a healthcare related field.
- Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities.
1-year prior insurance experience preferred.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
