What are the responsibilities and job description for the NONDUKE STUDENT/INTERN position at Duke Clinical Research Institute?
*Collect and record intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) data, including facial EMG, EEG, and stimulation event logs, from surgical cases.
*Organize and label multimodal datasets (intraoperative recordings, postoperative clinical assessments, and imaging) using standardized research protocols.
*Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and anonymization in compliance with IRB and data governance standards.
*Perform preliminary data analysis, including signal quality review, event detection, and summary statistics.
*Generate summary tables, figures, and dashboards to track study metrics.
*Contribute to preparation of internal progress reports, abstracts, and manuscripts under investigator supervision.
*Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to project planning and workflow improvement.
*Communicate with clinical teams to ensure accurate data capture and follow-up assessments.
*Maintain organized study documentation and logs to support reproducibility and audit readiness.
*Ensure all data collection and sharing activities comply with institutional data security, IRB, and HIPAA requirements.
*Track study milestones and coordinate submissions for continuing review, data use agreements, and protocol amendments.
*Support development and testing of computational tools (e.g., algorithms for EMG signal analysis, data visualization templates).
*Assist with integration of new data collection systems and provide feedback on usability and workflow optimization.
