Duggan Manufacturing is seeking an experienced 5-Axis Laser Operator to join our prototype manufacturing operation in Shelby Township, MI.
This position operates Prima Power 5-axis fiber laser equipment, including Rapido and Next systems, producing complex prototype and low-volume components for the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, perform machine setups, make program and cutting-condition adjustments, troubleshoot problems, and consistently produce quality parts to print.
Direct Prima Power experience is preferred, but experienced 5-axis laser operators with Trumpf, Mazak, or similar equipment are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC laser cutting equipment
- Load and prove out programs and make necessary adjustments
- Adjust cutting parameters and conditions to maintain cut quality
- Troubleshoot machine, setup, and cut-quality issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
- Verify parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area
- Work with engineering, programming, and quality to resolve production issues
- Maintain accurate production documentation
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Previous 5-axis laser cutting experience strongly preferred
- CNC setup and machine operation experience
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot cutting and process problems
- Experience making program and cutting-condition adjustments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Prima Power experience is a major plus
- Experience with Prima Power Rapido or Next equipment is especially desirable
- Prototype, automotive, aerospace, or defense manufacturing experience is a plus

Schedule: 1st or 2nd shift, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
