Project Engineer – Water Treatment Construction

Build With a Team That Builds Differently.

Baker Water is growing and seeking a Project Engineer to join our Treatment team. This role is integral to the construction and commissioning of wastewater treatment plants, water reclamation facilities, and water treatment systems, with a strong emphasis on self-perform construction.

If you’re looking to be hands-on, learn from experienced builders, and have real impact on complex infrastructure projects, this is a great opportunity to grow your career.

About The Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale treatment and industrial projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

A key part of this role is helping leverage Baker Waters’ self-perform capabilities — giving our teams greater control over schedule, cost, and craftsmanship.

Why Baker Water?

Baker Construction is a nationally respected builder delivering complex, high-impact projects across five divisions: industrial, industrial distribution, structural, restoration, and water and wastewater infrastructure. At Baker, you’ll find more than job security and competitive pay. You’ll have ownership in your work, develop new skills, earn valuable credentials, and advance on your terms. Guided by our core values of People, Honor, and Grit, we invest in individuals who take pride in their work, follow through on commitments, and are driven to achieve more. If you’re looking for a place where your effort matters, your growth is supported, and your career can go as far as you want it to go, you’ll find it at Baker.

  • Assist in preparing proposals and owner change order requests, including pricing of self-perform work.
  • Maintain “As-Built” drawings and prepare project close-out documentation.
  • Collect and organize O&M manuals, guarantees, and warranties.
  • Help maximize efficiency and quality through effective use of self-perform work.

What You Bring

  • 1–3 years of experience in water/wastewater construction or related heavy civil work.
  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, and safety protocols.
