As a Distribution Center Product Technician, you will be assigned repairs on all types of product damage, including handling or damage that may occur with furniture purchased from HomeStores during transit. The Product Technician is accountable for the repair of case goods, leather, and upholstery furniture in an effective and timely manner. It is your responsibility to follow this standard operating procedure while working in your assigned position.

As a Distribution Center Product Technician, you will be assigned repairs on all types of product damage, including handling or damage that may occur with furniture purchased from HomeStores during transit. The Product Technician is accountable for the repair of case goods, leather, and upholstery furniture in an effective and timely manner. - Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.
- Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
- Performs small corner damages that require rebuild.
- Has general understanding of spray booth set up and use.
- Performs advance replacement part repairs.
- Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean.
- Help to inspect damaged products and convey them if they can be repaired to like new conditions.
- Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process.
- Documents and follows through on reoccurring product damages.
- Notify the Guest Response Team and DC Manager of repeated item issues.
- Complete upholstery repair including mechanism replacement.
- Assist other technicians.
- Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
- Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them.
- Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.

- Work Assignment Retail Distribution Center Product Technician
- Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures.
- High School Diploma.
- 1 year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to read reports, view computer screen, etc.
- Must be able to hear and understand speech to interact with others.
- Must be able to speak so that others will be able to understand.
- Will remain in a seated position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands to include keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS equipment and handheld equipment operation.
- Will remain on one’s feet in an upright position and move about on foot.
- Will bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or above shoulder level.
- Will lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance.
- Will work predominately in a warehouse environment; occasional work at new retail locations under construction. Potential exposure to oil, latex, and spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors and household dusts; moderate office noise.
- Understand and maintain all safe work practices and rules.
