Duties

• Greet guests warmly, provide menu recommendations, and assist with special dietary needs to enhance their dining experience
• Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, including cocktails, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, demonstrating cocktail experience and beverage service skills
• Upsell menu items and beverages to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer relations
• Process cash and credit card payments accurately; handle cash handling responsibilities with integrity and attention to detail
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and timely delivery of orders in a fine dining or casual setting
• Assist with opening or closing duties as needed, including inventory checks and restocking supplies
• Engage with guests to foster guest relations, address concerns promptly, and ensure a memorable visit

Qualifications

• Proven food service experience in restaurants or hospitality environments; fine dining or nightclub experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest inquiries professionally
• Demonstrated ability in food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety standards
• Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience in upselling menu items to increase sales while providing exceptional guest experiences
• Strong communication skills; previous host/hostess or bussing experience is advantageous
• Passion for hospitality with a positive attitude that energizes team members and guests alike
