About the Role
As a Manager/Director of Membership Sales, you will build and lead the sales organization for Duet's premium matchmaking business. This is a foundational leadership role where you'll establish the sales infrastructure, hire and develop a high-performing team, and drive revenue growth while ensuring our clients receive world-class consultation on their journey to meaningful relationships. You will work cross-functionally with our product, marketing, and operations teams across international offices to ensure a seamless client experience and consistent revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Team Building & Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a team of Matchmaking Sales Consultants, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a collaborative, results-driven culture.
- Develop training programs that transform new hires into consultative sales experts capable of converting warm leads into long-term clients.
- Serve as a player-coach initially, leading by example on sales calls while scaling the team.
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Design and implement sales processes, scripts, and KPIs for a consultative telesales environment.
- Own and exceed team revenue quotas through data-driven pipeline management and performance optimization.
- Refine our 1-call close and rapid sales cycle approach to maximize conversion rates.
- Client Experience & Matchmaking Operations
- Ensure the sales team conducts dynamic, rapport-building interviews to qualify clients and recommend appropriate membership tiers.
- Collaborate with Dating Coordinators and Matchmakers to deliver seamless handoffs and concierge-level service post-sale.
- Gather client insights to inform product and service improvements.
- Cross-Functional & International Collaboration
- Partner with global teams across product, marketing, and operations to align sales strategy with company objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven Sales Leader: 5 years in sales leadership with direct experience managing telesales or inside sales teams; background in premium services, matchmaking, insurance, finance, or education highly preferred.
- Consultative Selling Expert: Deep understanding of high-ticket, relationship-driven sales with a track record of 1-call close environments and 24-hour sales cycles.
- Builder Mentality: Entrepreneurial spirit with experience establishing sales infrastructure, training programs, and performance frameworks from the ground up.
- People-Focused Leader: Strategic and compassionate, with positive influence and a resourceful, self-starting approach that inspires team collaboration.
- Communication Excellence: Polished interpersonal and verbal skills; comfortable conducting sales calls and coaching reps in real-time.
- Money Motivated: Driven by performance-based compensation with a proven history of earning six figures and pushing beyond targets.
- Global Perspective: Experience collaborating with international, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
