The Industrial Maintenance Planner coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in a regulated food manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment reliability while maintaining compliance with FDA, BAP, SQF/BRC, and internal GMP standards.
The Planner oversees maintenance workflows in the EAM system, ensuring accurate documentation, audit readiness, and cross-functional coordination. The role also manages MRO inventory and critical spare parts to reduce downtime and avoid production disruptions.

- Morning Shift | Monday – Friday | 8:00AM – 4:30PM
Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Use the EAM system as the central platform for maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Develop detailed job plans outlining scope, labor, parts, food safety measures, sanitation coordination, and LOTO procedures.
- Coordinate schedules with Production, Quality, and Sanitation to minimize food safety risks.
- Plan maintenance around allergen changeovers, sanitation windows, and production constraints.
- Maintain weekly schedules, ensure proper work order documentation, and track PM compliance, downtime, emergency work, and reliability metrics.
- Ensure all work orders are properly coded, documented, and closed in the EAM system.
- Track PM compliance, emergency work percentage, downtime, and equipment reliability metrics.
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMPs, HACCP, SQF/BRC, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Integrate food safety controls into job plans and coordinate post-maintenance sanitation and pre-op inspections.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, inspections, traceability, and corrective actions.
EAM System Ownership & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate asset hierarchies, equipment data, and BOMs within the EAM system.
- Link spare parts to assets and job plans to standardize execution and capture failure data, labor hours, and parts usage.
- Generate compliance and reliability reports, analyze equipment history to improve PMs, and support continuous improvement.
- Train technicians on proper EAM documentation and food-safe maintenance practices.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Develop and maintain a strong preventive maintenance program within the EAM system.
- Optimize PM frequencies based on failure trends and food safety risk.
- Coordinate predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic inspections.
- Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
Parts Inventory & MRO Management
- Manage MRO inventory in the EAM system, maintaining min/max levels for critical food production equipment.
- Identify and classify critical spare parts, ensuring food-grade compliance where needed.
- Conduct cycle counts, annual inventories, and standardize parts to eliminate duplicates.
- Keep storerooms organized and audit-ready, and collaborate with Purchasing for approved vendors and compliant materials.
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with EAM/CMMS systems.
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC standards, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with processing, packaging, or refrigeration systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintenance reporting tools.
