Part-Time Information Technology Technician

Duchesne County is seeking a Part-Time Information Technology Technician to provide routine technical support for County departments and staff. Under the supervision of the Information Technology Director, this position assists with day-to-day technology operations, troubleshooting, workstation setup, software installation, equipment deployment, website updates, and user support.
This role is scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and offers a flexible schedule, with occasional evening, weekend, or after-hours support as needed for operational or emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for computers, printers, mobile devices, and software
- Install, configure, and deploy workstations and related equipment
- Troubleshoot routine hardware, software, and user account issues
- Assist with workstation setup, device imaging, office moves, and equipment replacement
- Document service requests and completed work
- Provide user training and support on County systems
- Assist with County website content updates and basic web development tasks
- Support IT security, confidentiality, and County technology policies
- Provide occasional after-hours emergency support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of IT training, coursework, or practical support experience preferred
- Help desk, desktop support, software support, or website maintenance experience preferred
- Valid Utah Driver's License required
- Must pass background check and required drug testing
- Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with County staff and vendors
Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional travel between County facilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work around desks and equipment, and assist with setup or relocation of technology devices.
