Job Title: Part-Time IT Technician
Position Summary
Lincoln Academy is seeking a Part-Time IT Technician to support daily technology operations and assist with ticket resolution, device support, and infrastructure maintenance. This position is being added to strengthen IT capacity, reduce backlog, and allow the IT Systems Administrator to focus on larger strategic initiatives, long-term projects, and system improvements.
As a growing school community, additional IT support is necessary to ensure consistent, responsive service while continuing to enhance our technology systems and infrastructure.
Work Schedule
- 20 hours per week from hire date through June 30, 2026
- 28–32 hours per week beginning July 1, 2026
- Schedule coordinated to support school needs, including flexibility during peak implementation periods
Position Purpose
This role provides hands-on technical support for staff and students, manages ticket response, assists with hardware and software troubleshooting, and supports network and system maintenance. By addressing daily technical needs, this position enables the IT Systems Administrator to dedicate uninterrupted time to infrastructure upgrades, documentation, training resources, and long-term technology initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Technical Support
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support classroom technology, printers, projectors, and staff devices
- Assist with device setup, configuration, and deployment
Systems & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with network monitoring and routine systems checks
- Support Wi-Fi access and device connectivity
- Help maintain inventory of hardware and technology assets
- Assist with ID badge printer setup and device relocation projects
Project & Implementation Support
- Support teacher and student device refresh cycles
- Assist with technology installations (e.g., digital signage/advertising TVs)
- Contribute to system testing and infrastructure improvements
- Assist in documentation of IT processes and knowledge base materials
Summer & Off-Hours Support
- Provide technology support typically covered by seasonal IT help
- Assist with summer device preparation and classroom setup
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a school environment
- Able to lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to comfortably stand or sit at desk for long periods of time
Preferred
- Experience in K–12 IT support
- Familiarity with Google Workspace Admin
- Troubleshooting experience for Mac OS, Chrome OS and IOS devices
- Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, access points, user authentication)
- Experience with device deployment and inventory systems
Salary
- Starting rate is $18/hr
