Role Description The Experienced Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to the attorney in all aspects of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and property division. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and formatting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, agreements, and other legal documents; managing case files; and maintaining accurate calendars and deadlines. The role involves communicating with clients, courts, and opposing counsel; organizing and preparing documents for hearings and trials; and assisting with evidence gathering and trial notebooks. The paralegal will also perform legal research, prepare summaries, and help ensure compliance with court rules and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Denton, TX.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in family law, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and court documents, and managing case files from intake through resolution.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and ability to summarize statutes, case law, and court rules relevant to Texas family law.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including handling multiple deadlines, maintaining calendars, and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, grammar, and clarity in correspondence and legal documents.
- High level of client service skills, including professionalism, discretion, empathy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive family law matters.
- Comfort with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, PDF tools).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of paralegal experience in family law or closely related practice areas; Texas experience strongly preferred.
- Paralegal certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorney and staff, take initiative, and adapt to evolving case needs and firm procedures.
